Job Summary

The Shop Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment, facilities, and vehicles to support safe and efficient freight operations. Primary Objectives

Perform routine and corrective maintenance on warehouse and yard equipment and vehicles. Support operational continuity through timely facility and equipment repairs. Maintain accurate inventory of parts and supplies. Contribute to overall departmental effectiveness through flexible task support. Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment including forklifts and yard trucks. Perform facility maintenance tasks such as minor repairs and upkeep. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on chassis, including brakes and hydraulic systems. Update and manage inventory records for parts and supplies. Identify and report equipment issues promptly. Follow safety protocols and company procedures. Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with welding and fabrication tasks as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Participate in ongoing training and skill development. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education High school diploma or equivalent required Licenses and Certifications Valid state-issued driver license and acceptable driving record required Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred Work Experience 2+ years' experience in an equipment or vehicle maintenance and repair position required Prior experience in the transportation/shipping industry preferred Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic mechanical background and understanding. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks. Ability to safely perform job duties. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
