We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost tracking, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis to support management decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 (JDE 9.2) and a solid background in manufacturing or distribution cost accounting. Key Responsibilities/Skills: Solid
understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles with hands-on
experience in variance analysis, standard costing, and inventory
reconciliations. Strong
Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reporting) to
support accurate financial insights. Maintain
and monitor the cost accounting system, ensuring accuracy of cost rolls,
bills of materials (BOMs), and routings. Analyze
manufacturing costs, variances, and margins, preparing detailed variance
analysis reports for management. Support
month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account
reconciliations, and accruals. Monitor
and reconcile inventory transactions, ensuring alignment between perpetual
records and general ledger balances. Develop
and update standard costs for new and existing products. Review
work orders, purchase orders, and production reports to validate costs and
identify discrepancies. Partner
cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to
analyze cost drivers, address process inefficiencies, and identify
cost-saving opportunities. Prepare
and present management reports, including margin analysis, cost center
performance, and trend analysis. Provide
schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits. Recommend
and implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and
enhance cost accounting system utilization. Strong
communication and problem-solving skills to effectively collaborate across
teams and present financial insights to management.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s
degree in accounting, finance, or related field or measurable, directly
relevant work experience. 3–5
years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution
environment. Strong
working knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 (preferred but not
