Are you a problem solver who can analyze complex risk and find insurance solutions that balance customer needs with business goals If you can take initiative use both your analytical and creative abilities to make sound decisions and have a desire to help people solve real challenges we want to know more about you! As a Sr Consultant you will act as a high level individual contributor subject matter expert within the business unit. You will direct the rates and form filings development process. Youll develop and implement region or channel strategic program plans and objectives. Youll be responsible for ensuring account authorizations meet region or channel program order to be successful you will need to build and maintain strong effective relationships with internal business liaisons external program managers and other key partners. Youll be responsible for guiding training and mentoring underwriting team members. Key Responsibilities

High level individual contributor subject matter expert within the business unit. Responsible for driving the sales and underwriting relationship for Programs products and services. Responsible for establishment of program goals and metrics for a specific vertical; ensuring alignment with scorecards. Provides forecasting related to trends and profitability; takes action based on results as needed. Directs the program manager relationships and results and recommends corrective action if necessary. Understands business needs and identifies new business opportunities. Reviews highly complex risks and programs or accounts (e.g., D&O, E&O, Employment Practices Liability, Medical Professional Liability, Contractual Liability, Cyber Liability, Shared and Layered Property, General Liability, Excess Auto, Recreation, Marine, Energy, Environmental, Inland Marine, Warranty, and Workers Compensation). Approves accounts which exceed underwriting staff authority due to complexity or coverage. Administers and participates in discussions with reinsurers per department guidelines; maintains good working relationships with reinsurers. Directs the development, implementation, and monitoring of underwriting guidelines, rates, forms, product endorsements, and procedures; monitors and approves preparation and use of those items. Interacts with business partners (e.g., claims, actuary, compliance) to achieve company goals; communicates program initiatives and performance goals; builds alignment across teams. Responsible for audits of risks/programs for compliance with company guidelines, state regulations, and reinsurance conditions; develops action plans as needed; resolves advanced technical issues. Establishes and maintains relationships with program managers to generate growth and profitability; travels as required for marketing visits and relationship building. Identifies new program opportunities, facilitates due diligence, and makes recommendations to senior management; oversees implementation of new programs across underwriting, compliance, regulatory, finance, reinsurance, claims, legal, accounting, actuarial and marketing areas. Attends industry functions to promote E&S / S Programs brand and capabilities to identify opportunities. Provides direction and guidance for less experienced staff and may supervise underwriting/support staff. Qualifications

Typical Skills and Experiences : Education :

Undergraduate studies with focus in Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or Risk Management. Graduate degree preferred. Experience :

Typically eight years related experience as a professional underwriter in financial and/or specialty lines. Program leadership experience in professional lines is preferred. Experience with data management, imaging, and related processes is helpful. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills :

In-depth knowledge of underwriting policies, practices, and procedures; insurance law; underwriting and marketing principles; depth in financial documents, financial analysis, investments, and market conditions. Legal knowledge related to insurance contracts and business law preferred. Knowledge of employment principles and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with wholesale brokerage/distribution systems; demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external partners; strong program leadership ability. Ability to manage large programs, develop innovative approaches, and solve complex problems; ability to analyze math, statistics, and data; strong project and process management skills. Ability to lead, train, motivate, set priorities, and establish regional objectives; ability to apply and learn job-related software. Ability to evaluate and devise solutions to complex programs and to make decisions aligning with company goals. Other

criteria including leadership and experiences may take precedence. Staffing exceptions require Sr. Leader and HRBP approval. Values and Conditions Regularly demonstrates Nationwide values.
