Returnship Program The program is sponsored by the Women at Recursion Employee Resource Group and is aimed at helping those who have taken a hiatus of 2+ years from the STEM industry return to the workforce in a learning environment with support from teams and mentors.
This sixteen‑week program (February 2026 through the end of May 2026) will give you ownership of projects that deeply impact the company’s mission, with guidance, support, and mentorship.
Position is based in Salt Lake City, UT with some hybrid flexibility.
MOAD Returnship The Multi‑Omics Assay Development (MOAD) team is excited to announce this unique opportunity for individuals passionate about cutting‑edge biological research.
Responsibilities
Perform tissue culture activities: media preparation, cell thawing, counting, lipofection, plating, and media changes using sterile techniques.
Execute drug‑treatment experiments on cells, leveraging lab automation tools.
Conduct diverse assays such as immunofluorescence, high‑content imaging, and omics assays.
Capture data via automated imaging runs and set up basic image analyses.
Document activities using an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) and interact with a laboratory information system (LIMS).
Deliver robust data and establish baseline protocols to drive progress on scientific projects.
Learn about assay development, including experiment design and validation.
Qualifications
3+ years of research laboratory experience, preferably with mammalian cell culture.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field.
2+ year employment break.
Strong desire to learn with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and accurate experimental record‑keeping.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lab setting.
