About the Role Wunderlich-Malec Engineering is looking for a
Senior MES Engineer
to lead the design, configuration, and implementation of cutting-edge
Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
solutions.
You’ll collaborate directly with clients, lead a team of engineers, and serve as the
solution architect
driving MES strategies that integrate process knowledge, equipment design, and regulatory compliance to optimize efficiency and quality.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a
leadership capacity
within one of the largest 100% employee‑owned engineering firms in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design, configuration, and implementation of MES solutions for industrial and life sciences clients.
Act as
solution architect —conceptualise, detail, and implement MES systems that meet customer needs.
Develop project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets up to $1M in value.
Oversee execution, ensure profitability, and maintain project scope and quality standards.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
Interface with clients, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and high satisfaction.
Integrate MES solutions with external systems (DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, PI, Maximo).
What We’re Looking For
10+ years
of experience in MES solution deployment — platforms include
Werum PAS‑X, Sepasoft, or POMS .
Proven experience with
conceptual design through commissioning
phases in
Life Sciences .
Familiarity with
cGMP ,
21 CFR Part 11 , and
GAMP5, S88, and S95
standards.
Strong understanding of
warehouse and inventory management
in GMP environments.
Experience with
SQL/Oracle databases
and
historian/reporting
systems.
Solid knowledge of
IT/OT networking
and system integration.
Excellent
communication, leadership, and project management
skills.
Ability to travel up to
25% .
