About the Role: The Food Safety & Quality Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of food safety and quality assurance within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role is critical in maintaining the highest standards of product safety, quality, and consistency to protect consumer health and uphold the company’s reputation. The manager will develop, implement, and continuously improve food safety programs, including SQF, HACCP, FSMA, SSOPs, GMPs, and other relevant protocols. They will collaborate closely with production, supply chain, and regulatory teams to identify risks, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions. Ultimately, this position ensures that all products meet or exceed safety and quality requirements, fostering customer trust and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety and quality management within the food manufacturing or processing industry.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations such as FDA, USDA, FSMA, and international standards like SQF.

Proven experience with SQF, HACCP, GMP, SSOPs, and other food safety management systems.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications:

Food Safety Certifications.

Experience working with global food safety standards and managing third-party audits.

Degree or specialized training in food safety or quality management.

Familiarity with data analysis and quality improvement methodologies.

Experience in leadership roles managing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive food safety and quality management systems in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.

Lead investigations into quality or safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Train and mentor staff on food safety practices, quality standards, and regulatory compliance to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and warehouse to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.

Monitor and analyze quality metrics and food safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies to ensure ongoing compliance and certification maintenance.

Skills: The Food Safety & Quality Manager will utilize their expertise in regulatory standards and food safety protocols daily to ensure all products meet stringent safety and quality requirements. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting audit results, quality data, and identifying potential risks or non-conformities. Strong communication skills enable effective training of staff and collaboration with internal teams and external regulatory bodies. Leadership and problem-solving skills are applied to drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage corrective actions efficiently. Additionally, proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools supports the monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators related to food safety and quality.
