The Monitor Technician is responsible for integrating information on the monitoring system and communicating to nursing staff by observation and interpretation of patient's ECG rhythm patterns, ST segment analysis with review and editing capabilities in accordance with the established policies/protocols and nursing standards.
This opportunity is Registry, 12 hr. shift, 7pm-7:30am.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must have ability to interpret, communicate and document patient rhythm information correctly.
Completes monitor logs and rhythm analysis documentation.
Obtains EKG strips from all patients on telemetry at least once 2X/shift.
Provides direct patient care for patients for skin assessment, electrode application and transmitter placement.
Evaluate patient responses to all interventions and anticipate patient care problems as emergent with changes.
Demonstrates competence in use of the monitoring equipment.
Performs all operational functions to maintain the workstation monitor equipment.
Monitors and maintains the telemetry equipment, including batteries and paper supplies.

Must have 1 year of cardiac monitoring experience.
Evidence of documented training program in arrhythmia recognition.
Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT), certification by CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
BLS/CPR certification required
