Salary:

The budgeted salary range for the position is $43,888.00 to $48,075.00.

In addition, the pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Position Summary The Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a Research Associate I – Social Sciences – IRB Services.

The Research Associate I – Social Sciences – IRB Services conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding and cleaning of data and descriptive results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in research activities and participate in a variety of collaborative projects

Apply research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project

With a moderate level of direction, will manage research‑related duties and tasks

Support data collection efforts, conduct literature reviews, and help write reports

Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, and perform other related work as needed

Conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding and cleaning of data and descriptive results

Maintains and processes required paperwork

Coordinate research activities including scheduling, tracking, and completing study activities - collection of qualitative/quantitative data & data analysis - in preparation and during the study period.

Works closely with the Director of Clinical Research to ensure correct implementation and compliance with study protocols

Assist in developing training materials for new staff

Assist in developing and compiling summary data, progress reports, IRB submissions, and support for presentations

Communicate in an effective and professional manner with all members of the research team, study participants and learners

Assist the Director of Clinical Research with administrative tasks

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social science or related field required.

Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.

Entry level knowledge of research methods.
