Staff Product Manager
to lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of innovative products that advance immersive production tools and platforms. In this role, you will develop scalable solutions that align with business goals and deliver value to creative and production teams throughout the entire filmmaking process, from development to post‑production and release.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of the software development lifecycle, cloud‑based platforms, and immersive production technology, along with a deep understanding of creative and technical workflows in filmmaking. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering innovative products within the entertainment industry. As the Immersive Production Technology Senior Product Manager, this position will strike a balance of maintaining and supporting the operations of existing technology, in addition to driving the development of emerging technologies for film production teams, including but not limited to 3D asset workflows, virtual production, cloud‑based workflows and AI content creation.
Responsibilities
Own and drive the product roadmap for technical solutions in film production, ensuring alignment with both business and creative goals through strategic decision‑making and prioritization.
Lead end‑to‑end product discovery efforts, collaborating with stakeholders to uncover user needs, define clear requirements, and validate product opportunities through research and prototyping.
Deliver engaging product demos and lead structured onboarding sessions to accelerate adoption, ensuring new users across IPT quickly understand platform capabilities and workflows.
Own the strategic planning and facilitation of Agile ceremonies—including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and refinement—by preparing actionable content that drives team alignment, prioritization, and delivery velocity.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders and serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and creative production partners, negotiating priorities to facilitate clear communication and alignment throughout the product development.
Understand the needs of directors, animators, and VFX teams to shape product features that enhance creative workflows and improve efficiency in the filmmaking process.
Lead the product development process from concept through delivery and beyond, managing the full product lifecycle with continuous iteration to improve performance, scalability, and user experience.
Partner with cross‑functional teams—including project management, design, engineering, technical directors, filmmakers, and production teams—to create user‑centric solutions that address evolving project requirements.
Analyze product performance and user feedback to inform future development and ensure technical solutions meet key metrics and business objectives.
Lead technical advocacy efforts to drive internal adoption of new tools and workflows, developing strategic rollout plans aligned with user needs and tracking success through defined KPIs such as adoption rates, tool utilization, and workflow efficiency gains.
Stay ahead of industry trends such as cloud‑based workflows, emerging production technologies, and advancements in 3D asset management, integrating these insights into the product strategy.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree plus 7+ years of experience in product management, software development, and filmmaking, with a focus on technologies supporting film production.
Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS), cloud computing, virtual production technologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), large language models (LLMs), and other advanced software tools.
Proven success in developing and delivering scalable products and platforms that drive innovation in the entertainment and digital media industry.
Deep knowledge of real‑time content creation tools such as Unreal Engine and Unity, along with experience in 3D asset workflows and product lifecycle management.
Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both creative and technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and workstreams simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment, balancing speed with quality and value.
Preferred Qualifications
A passion for pushing the boundaries of filmmaking through new technologies and creative workflows.
Understanding of the broader cinematic pipeline, including pre‑visualization, production, and post‑production.
Proficiency with technical tools and frameworks, including:
Ability to run and optimize SQL queries for data analysis and backend operations.
Familiarity with front‑end and backend software development.
