Responsibilities

Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.

Work in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways, and may provide autonomous team‑based care.

Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review and order diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, prescribe chemotherapy, and formulate and manage patient treatment plans.

Educate patients and families on care and available resources, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, including admitting instructions, treatment plans, potential side effects, and discharge plans.

Provide psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.

Opportunity to serve in the OR as surgical assist.

Qualifications Education

Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.

Experience

1–2 years of oncology experience preferred.

Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in process of obtaining.

ACLS/BLS (as required) certification.

DEA license.
