The Pricing Analyst supports profitable growth across the Metals segment by building price lists, modeling quotes, and providing timely analysis to sales and product teams. This role turns cost, market, and win‑rate data into recommendations that protect margin and improve hit rates. The analyst partners closely with Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations to keep pricing accurate, competitive, and easy to execute. Key Responsibilities
Pricing operations and deal support
Maintain price books, discount structures, and quote tools for Metals products and services. Review quotes for accuracy, target margin, and terms. Flag risks and recommend adjustments. Support a simple approval workflow for non‑standard pricing and commercial exceptions. Apply index‑based adjustments for aluminum, coatings, freight, and other inputs. Convert quotes across currencies when needed and track FX impacts. Analytics and insights
Build and refresh dashboards for win rate, realized price vs target, price variance, and margin leakage. Analyze quote outcomes by product, region, customer segment, and rep. Model the impact of price changes, surcharges, and promotions. Provide deal post‑mortems and recommendations to improve future pricing. Governance and accuracy
Keep cost inputs current by partnering with Finance and Supply Chain. Ensure pricing controls and documentation meet audit standards. Standardize SKU and option pricing in ERP and CPQ to reduce rework and errors. Track and report pricing exceptions and approvals. Cross‑functional partnership
Work with Product on value positioning and price ladders. Partner with Sales to set target bands, guardrails, and walk‑away points. Coordinate with Operations on lead‑time, capacity, and make‑ready impacts to pricing. Share simple playbooks so field teams can price consistently and quickly. Key results you will own
Timely maintenance of price lists and quote tools Realized price versus target and margin attainment Reduction in pricing errors, credits, and rework Adoption of dashboards and playbooks by sales teams Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
Experience
3+ years of pricing, financial analysis, or commercial analytics in manufacturing, building products, or industrial distribution.
Required Skills
Strong Excel skills including complex formulas, lookups, and data cleansing. Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Comfortable working with ERP and CPQ data. Able to reconcile cost, list, and margin. Clear written and verbal communication. Able to explain numbers to non‑analysts.
Preferred Skills
Experience pricing engineered‑to‑order or project‑based work. Working knowledge of SQL or similar for data extraction. Familiarity with index‑based pricing and surcharges. Exposure to currency conversion and cross‑border pricing. Background with Salesforce or similar CRM.
Working conditions
Office setting with periodic time on the shop floor and in customer meetings. Role requires extended time working at a computer and handling large datasets. May need to visit Metals sites to understand products, costs, and processes. Confirm reporting line and whether the role supports one brand or multiple Metals businesses. Decide on tool stack standards. Document current ERP, CPQ, BI, and CRM connections.
