Overview
The Patient Safety Program Manager is responsible for supporting the Chief Patient Safety Officer with planning and implementation of a comprehensive patient safety program. This role supports the advancement of the safety culture at Hoag and promotes continued quality improvement and alignment with industry best practices. The Program Manager will have oversight of designated patient safety functions and will independently carry out assignments with minimal support. This position involves direct partnership with physicians, nurses and other clinical and non-clinical leaders to identify safety risks, conduct analysis, and implement corrective actions to mitigate harm and improve patient outcomes. The Program Manager serves as a resource on patient safety principles and leads teams through safety event investigation and problem solving. Responsibilities
Facilitate multidisciplinary meetings and regularly present information at multidisciplinary meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field Knowledge of patient safety and performance improvement practices required Minimum three years’ experience in an acute care hospital setting Experience in the field of Quality, Safety or Risk preferred Masters degree preferred Licenses
Registered Nurse in the state of CA Licenses Preferred
Certifications
CPPS required within 12 months of hire or start in position. About Us
