Job Summary The CCA Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) to ensure compliance with manufacturing and industry standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to identify defects in soldering and conformal coating applications. The CCA Inspector uses predetermined inspection methods, tools, and documentation to verify product quality and ensure conformance to specifications.

Job Responsibilities

Perform 100% visual inspection of circuit card assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.

Inspect solder joints, conformal coatings, and component placement using microscopes and magnification tools.

Utilize drawings, parts lists, and written inspection instructions to verify compliance with customer and industry specifications.

Use measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales to confirm dimensional accuracy.

Document inspection results accurately and maintain quality records in compliance with company procedures.

Identify and report nonconforming materials and workmanship issues.

Collaborate effectively with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance inspection processes and product quality.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2 years of solder or visual inspection experience, or 2 years of manufacturing/soldering experience with electronic assemblies.

Minimum of 1 year of conformal coating inspection experience.

Strong understanding of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, diagrams, and reference documents.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and process accuracy.

Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods (up to 10 hours).

Ability to sit for long durations at a workstation.

Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to interface professionally with all levels of manufacturing personnel.

Proficient with personal computers and basic software applications.

Team-oriented with a collaborative and solutions-driven approach.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification preferred.

Work Experience

At least 2 years of experience in soldering, assembly, or visual inspection of electronic assemblies required.

Prior experience in conformal coating inspection highly preferred.

Schedule: 1st Shift, 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This position requires precision work under magnification and adherence to strict quality standards.
