Boring Company
The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a Recruiter, you will drive the recruitment of top talent for roles critical to our mission, including (but not limited to) manufacturing, assembly, welding, machining, and operations positions. You will partner with internal teams to source, screen, interview, and onboard candidates. This role demands autonomy, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment while representing The Boring Company with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
Partner with production hiring managers to understand headcount needs, refine job requisitions, create targeted job postings, and align on hiring strategies and interview feedback.
Source skilled talent using innovative strategies, including LinkedIn, industry networks, trade schools, and vocational programs.
Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers with clear recommendations.
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including coordinating onsite interviews, candidate tours, offer negotiations, and background checks.
Identify recruitment challenges in hiring and propose actionable solutions to streamline processes.
Train hiring managers and team members on best practices for recruiting and interviewing candidates.
Organize and execute recruitment events, such as job fairs, facility tours, or virtual webinars.
Build relationships with diverse talent networks, trade unions, and industry associations to enhance candidate pipelines.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of recruiting experience, with a focus on production, manufacturing, or skilled trade roles.
Proven track record as an in-house or agency recruiter in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience recruiting for production roles in advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, or startup environments.
Expertise in non-traditional sourcing methods, such as targeted LinkedIn campaigns, industry events, or partnerships with apprenticeship programs.
Strong ability to distinguish top-tier talent (e.g., top 5% vs. top 50%) in production fields.
Excellent relationship-building skills with hiring managers, including Director and VP-level leaders.
