Pay Range: $18–$20/hour Status: Full-Time Location: YWCA Minneapolis What You’ll Do
As a Cook in our Early Childhood Education program, you’ll ensure children are served nutritious, high-quality meals each day. You’ll manage kitchen operations, maintain CACFP compliance, and contribute to a welcoming, safe environment for all. Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, snack) in accordance with CACFP guidelines Order food and supplies in a timely, cost-effective manner Maintain kitchen cleanliness and documentation in alignment with health and safety standards Adjust menus and prep to accommodate food allergies and special dietary needs Occasionally support classroom staff as needed Core Competencies
Nutrition & Food Safety: Applies CACFP, nutrition, and food handling standards to ensure safe, healthy meals Independence & Accountability: Manages kitchen tasks efficiently with minimal supervision Adaptability & Teamwork: Adjusts to daily needs while supporting a collaborative, child-focused environment Who You Are
You are a dependable and detail-oriented food service professional who takes pride in preparing nutritious meals that support child development. You’re comfortable working independently, maintaining documentation, and adapting to the needs of a dynamic early education environment.
