Overview Scheduling Assistant (Administrative Support Assistant II) – Temporary position in the Scheduling Department. Time base: Full Time; hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Appointment type: Temporary with possible renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist. Salary Range: $3,565 - $3,864 per month.

Job Summary Join the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs as part of the Scheduling team. The Scheduling Assistant performs administrative duties involving scheduling tasks with strong analytical skills. Supports the administration of academic scheduling processes, 25Live space and event scheduling, and collaborates with staff to troubleshoot scheduling issues from the campus community. May assist with processes related to the Academic Planning Database (APDB) or other data reports. Develops, reviews, maintains, and cleans up the class schedule. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

High School diploma or the equivalent and three years of experience in general office, clerical, or secretarial work or the equivalent.

General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.

Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, practices, and equipment.

Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling with demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing.

Ability to learn, interpret independently, apply, and identify deviations from a variety of complex policies and procedures.

Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and creative solutions.

Ability to perform arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data.

Ability to work on the front line with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions.

Basic typing and keyboarding skills.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU may make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information or if information is knowingly withheld or falsified. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in a higher education environment. Experience with CourseDog or a similar class and space scheduling system.
