Summary
Lead Engineer on our Private Water/Wastewater Team. This position is ideal for a Professional Engineer with a passion for industrial water and wastewater challenges, from food and beverage facilities to pharmaceutical, petroleum, plating, mining, manufacturing, and biogas to energy facilities. The role allows mentoring junior team members and ensuring the technical success of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use professional judgment as an individual contributor to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
Assist the Project Manager or act as Project Manager, assign tasks, schedule, answer questions, and monitor progress of Staff Engineers, Project Engineers, and non‑exempt project team members.
Check the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.
Make major design decisions that meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.
Pro‑actively identify technical, schedule or financial issues and seek resolution from the Project Manager and/or the client.
Assist the Client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager.
Monitor construction and supervise field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project.
Respond to contractor questions and issues and prepare and issue project addenda as needed.
Recommend and prepare change orders.
Participate in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work.
Sign and seal engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company.
Act as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor, and act as Project Manager on projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and be professionally registered (P.E.) in one or more states in which HR. Green, Inc. conducts business (or have the ability to obtain such registration within six months of employment). Must possess ten or more years of design/engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company to sign engineering documents.
Possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
Capable of correctly operating technical analysis equipment and computer equipment.
Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non‑routine tasks and engineering activities.
Hold current registered Professional Engineer certification in one or more states in which HR Green conducts business or have the ability to obtain such registration within six months of employment. In many cases the Project Engineer will possess additional professional, specialty certifications relevant to their field, and/or advanced education in a given discipline.
Previous water/wastewater experience required.
Compensation Range $104,000.00 - $166,000.00. The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Minnesota Omnibus Labor and Industry Policy Bill Article 7 Section 2. The final agreed‑upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
