Founded in 1959 and headed by the Vice‑President for Agriculture, it includes the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. Summary of Job Duties The selected applicant will work under the direction of Dr. Brittni Littlejohn in beef cattle physiology and prenatal programming. Primary responsibilities include laboratory and field work on the effects of endophyte‑infected, toxic tall fescue consumption by pregnant cattle with or without melatonin supplementation and evaluation of gossypol as a reproductive control in domestic hogs. The applicant will learn and perform a range of techniques, conduct research, contribute to data collection, analysis, technical writing, and public speaking. Undergraduate course assistance may also be required. Peer‑reviewed publications and presentations are expected. This is a full‑time twelve‑month appointment; evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

A BS in Animal Science or a related field and three years of professional experience OR an MS in Animal Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or PhD candidate in Animal Science or a closely related discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Prior education in animal science, laboratory analysis, project design, data collection, animal husbandry, data analysis, technical writing, and public speaking. Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, operate farm equipment, and traverse uneven terrain are required.
