Overview
The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) is actively recruiting to fill a Board-Certified Staff Gastroenterologist to care for our Veterans – America’s Heroes. The selected candidate may be considered for a faculty appointment within the Section of Gastroenterology at Loma Linda University and will be involved with education and teaching of fellows, medical students, residents, and other providers. This opportunity is at a state-of-the-art VA facility in Loma Linda. Loma Linda VAMC is among the VA Medical Centers in the Western US and serves the men and women who have proudly served our nation in the Loma Linda Community.
Position Details
The Gastroenterologist Physician candidate will be responsible for: Completing patient history and physical examinations, diagnosis, therapeutic care, and management in emergencies Providing patient care and ongoing management, including consultations and record keeping Skill in performing endoscopy and delivering care appropriate to the age of patients served Educating: teaching fellows, residents, and medical students in a hospital setting Teaching responsibilities include planning, coordinating, evaluating, and documenting educational activities Research responsibilities (including quality improvement projects) are not required but would add value Additional duties: inpatient consultations and endoscopy procedures
Schedule
Tour of duty: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; no on-call. Alternative work schedule may be available, including part-time appointments.
