Job Responsibilities

Conducts quality control inspections of in-process and pre-shipment products at local facilities.

Examine textile products (raw materials, fabric, garments, etc.) for defects such as flaws in weaving, sewing, knitting, or finishing.

Identify and mark defects like mispicks, slubs, runs, holes, stains, incorrect seams, or variations.

Measure garments or fabric to ensure they conform to size specifications or other relevant standards.

Grade and sort products based on quality, size, style, and other specifications.

Document findings, including defect types, quantities, and locations.

Inspection duties include, but are not limited to: visual (workmanship) evaluation, functional testing as applicable (measurements, assembly, etc.), packaging & labeling verification, etc.

Provides timely, detailed reports and photographic evidence of product, packaging, labeling, defects noted, etc.

Technical Qualifications

Good understanding of global apparel legal standard.

Strong knowledge in sewing, garment construction, manufacturing process, quality control and pattern making in woven, knits, leather, suede and leather items.

Strong attention to detail, excellent observational skills, and knowledge of textile materials and production processes.

Knowledge of textiles: Understanding of different fabrics, their properties, and common defects.

Measure and verify: Ensure products meet dimensional specifications using measuring tools and comparing them to samples.

Observational skills: The ability to quickly and accurately assess the quality of materials and products.

Industry Experience

Experience in Textile Manufacturing - Familiarity with different textile materials and production techniques. Understanding of quality control measures specifically within the textile

Knowledge of Textile Products and Standards - Ability to distinguish fabrics and assess their characteristics. Familiarity with industry standards and customer requirements.

Experience in Quality Assurance - Experience in inspection or quality assurance related to textile products. Familiarity with quality control techniques and tools. Experience in conducting inspections and audits. Experience with specific textile testing operations such as colorfastness or strength testing may be required depending on the specialization.
