THE ROLE As part of our design team, you’ll report to our Supervising Technical Artist and bridge the gap between our artists and engineers. You will apply an equal amount of knowledge about both disciplines to ensure the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project are met. This is the perfect role for someone with a passion for innovating and creating a large array of unique visual experiences.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Help define technical requirements for integration of geometry, rigging, animation, shading and material assets from multiple sources into Unity and/or UE5
Prototype, pre-visualize, and build XR experiences leveraging Unity and/or UE5
Build and integrate 3D models, animation, texturing, shading, materials and XR interactions into Unity-based XR projects
Integrate 2D video and 180/360‑degree video assets into XR experiences
Play test, refine, and optimize code and art assets to maximize VR, AR & MR experiences
Help develop powerful and efficient workflows for the Art team
Assist in defining opportunities for automation and collaborate with Engineering to create and deploy tools that allow asset ingest, scene assembly and image generation at massive scale
Collaborate with multiple teams in understanding the current state of internal asset libraries, simulation workflows, while supporting the development of future technology
Develop, maintain, document and communicate technical‑art guidelines and best‑practices
WHO YOU ARE
BS/BA in Games, Art, Interactive Media Design, or 3D Computer Animation, or equivalent industry experience
Demonstrated expertise at understanding inner workings of a real‑time game engine (Unity, Unreal, etc)
Current, well‑rounded expertise in content‑production and development techniques using a broad range of standard DCC tools (Maya, Photogrammetry, Substance Suite, etc.)
Familiarity with C#, and the ability to code and sequence animation and interactive elements together for a seamless XR experience
Solid knowledge of current real‑time asset creation and optimizations
Well‑versed in asset creation and game production pipelines
Experience with Bifrost, Houdini, and procedural VFX techniques and workflows is a plus
Able to identify opportunities for automation within these workflows
Working familiarity with Agile/Scrum development process
Self‑motivated with strong communication skills and able to work both in a team and independently
Ability to work with minimal direction and manage a project independently from start to finish
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The annual compensation includes equity (per qualifications)
The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $145,000 plus equity (per qualifications)
The base pay offered will take into account internal parity, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
