This MA position is a support MA position, acting as an in‑clinic float and backup for lab phlebotomist, and will have the opportunity to use a variety of MA skills and see a variety of patients. The Overland clinic is a well established clinic with a loyal patient population and has been a part of the west Boise and east Meridian community for many years. The clinic boasts great providers and a very positive and supportive team. From preventive screenings to chronic disease diagnosis and management, we provide access to quality healthcare services for all your families' needs. This clinic is also a Patient‑Centered Medical Home where patient treatment is coordinated through the primary care physician to ensure the patient receives the necessary care when and where they need it, in a manner they can understand. What Will You Do
As a support MA, you will work directly with part‑time providers 2 mornings a week and will provide support with the clinic in‑basket, rooming, immunizations, and any other supported needed. You will also cover for 1:1 MA PTO / Leaves, and also coverage for the phlebotomist when needed. In addition to primary MA duties, you will also perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, perform EKGs, and prep injections. You will set up and assist with minor procedures, complete POC and other tests, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox. An ideal candidate will have previous experience in family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, internal medicine, or urgent care; will be highly dependable and reliable; and have solid experience with immunizations and phlebotomy. You will also have strong self‑initiative and communication skills, enjoy developing efficiencies, being part of a supportive team, and willing to assist in all areas of the clinic. Work Schedule
40 hours per week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, with a 1/2 day on Wednesdays. Shift start and end time can vary based on provider's schedule and clinic needs. Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire. MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Healthcare Association (CCMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC) National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
New Graduates:
MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. Completion of either a 100‑hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 year of MA experience OR current MA certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. EMT and CNA certifications will not count toward an MA certification.
