Sr. Investment Accounting Analyst

As a senior analyst, you will coordinate and perform complex investment accounting functions, including coordinating, processing and ensuring the data integrity of investment accounting data in Clearwater received from multiple asset managers, facilitating valuations, impairment and CECL assessments, financial analytics, process improvements, investment operations, and interfacing with business colleagues within Resolution Life and third-party vendors. This role will be focused on Securities but could also be asked to flex across all Resolution Life's asset classes, including loans, alternative investments, and derivatives. Expectations include understanding accounting principles, techniques and procedures to evaluate, interpret, record and analyze investment financial data. This will be used to prepare financial documents and/or reports for various regulatory and statutory authorities and for internal management at all levels. Responsibilities
Ensures the completeness and accuracy of all reports, forms and data provided to internal and external clients/customers. Develops and submits GAAP and Statutory investment accounting and financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis. Prepare financial investment information, which could include compliance reporting, internal reporting, statement footnote disclosures, and related regulatory reports. Assist in developing and maintaining a strong internal control environment within the Investment Accounting function. Perform financial analysis on the investment portfolio on a GAAP and Statutory accounting basis. Calculate CECL allowances for all fixed income securities and commercial mortgage loans. Monitor credit deterioration and impairment considerations. Review and coordinate issue resolution with Investment Manager, Custodian and/or Clearwater. Respond to audit inquiries and requests from both external and internal auditors. Respond to questions from external financial and regulatory reporting teams regarding investments and provide timely, complete reporting information. Recommend changes to areas of responsibility that would enhance, improve or facilitate job performance, processing or workflow. Own the development and design of new and enhanced systems and processes within the assigned areas. Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA preferred, not required 4-6 years of investment accounting experience, preferably in the insurance/financial services industries. Understanding of GAAP and STAT guidance is preferred. Experience with investment accounting in an outsource-model is helpful. Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly and annual department-driven deadlines. Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office products as well as report development via query tools. Strong coordination/organization skills with attentiveness to timelines. Responsible, dependable and possess an exceptional work ethic. Location

The range for the role may differ based on the location. West Chester, PA - $102,400- $125,100; New York, NY - $111,700- $136,500; Atlanta, GA - $93,100 - $113,800. In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
