About the Lead Children's Minister

Current – A Christian Church is a Jesus-centered community that values transformation and authenticity. We seek a passionate and dedicated Children's Minister to lead our children’s ministry. This full-time role is responsible for leading all aspects of the Children's Ministry, ensuring a safe, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for kids and families. The minister will work closely with the church's staff and ministry teams to integrate the children's ministry into the broader church community. Responsibilities

Spiritual Leadership

– Nurture children's spiritual growth, teach biblical truths, and model a Christ-like lifestyle for volunteers and families. Curriculum & Programming

– Expertly find and implement engaging, effective curriculum. Plan weekly services, special events, and lead the team, ensuring all programming aligns with the church's core values. Volunteer Management

– Recruit, train, supervise, and coordinate a team of volunteers to serve in the ministry. Create a positive and collaborative environment where volunteers feel valued and well-equipped. Planning & Administration

– Manage all administrative and logistical details for the ministry, including calendars, reservations, check‑in systems, and effective communication with other church departments. Parent & Family Engagement

– Build strong relationships with parents and families by providing resources to help them disciple their children at home and creating opportunities for family engagement. What you bring

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred. 3 years of applicable experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Pastoral care – Compassionate heart for ministering to children and families. Punctuality – Time-sensitive, honoring calendars of colleagues, volunteers, and guests. Software familiarity – Basic office software; preferred experience with Planning Center Online, Google Suite, and understanding of production equipment (sound, video, lighting). Learner – Hunger to learn new skills, fresh ideas, and better ways of working. Spirituality – Life commitment to Jesus Christ, integration with church family, and alignment with biblical principles. Communication – Interface with church staff, volunteers, guests, and school personnel who rent the building. Measurables

Spiritual Impact – Qualitative review of spiritual growth in children and families via feedback from parents, volunteers, and church leadership. Ministry Growth & Participation – Quantitative tracking of attendance and volunteer recruitment metrics. Program Execution – Review of event and service execution focusing on organization, safety, and excellence, evaluated through event debriefs and feedback. Team Cohesion – Qualitative review of interpersonal communication, team morale, and minister's ability to model community and collaboration with staff and volunteers.
