The Office of Transactions Services (OTS) seeks hard-working, resourceful, enthusiastic individuals to join a fast-paced environment and deliver quality customer service. The Personnel Specialist (PS) ensures payroll, personnel, benefit, and leave transactions are documented, reviewed, and completed in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and policies, while meeting deadlines. Under supervision at entry level and general supervision at journey/advanced levels, the PS applies state laws, departmental rules, regulations, and bargaining unit provisions related to payroll and personnel transactions. The PS processes appointments, separations, payroll, and benefits for Caltrans employees and related transactions. All duties require effective communication and excellent customer service with internal staff, employees, and control agencies. Note:

Position located at 1727 30th Street, Sacramento 95816. This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent. The position may be eligible for telework at the department’s discretion. In-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Selected candidate may be required to report to the headquartered location as needed. Business travel may be required and reimbursement depends on location and applicable regulations. Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. Include a description of how your education, training, experience, and skills meet the criteria in the duty statement.
