Teach undergraduate and graduate lecture courses and laboratories in civil engineering and geospatial engineering. Contribute to curricular development in their area of expertise. Supervise undergraduate and graduate-level research. Develop and maintain externally-funded research. Engage in service at the department, college, and university levels. Qualifications

An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Geospatial Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution or international equivalent (ABD considered, must show degree awarded by start date). Excellence in teaching, effective communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with students, staff, and faculty. Ability to develop an externally funded, applied research program involving undergraduates and graduates and partnerships with stakeholders. Hands-on, student-centered teaching experience; ability to work in multidisciplinary settings; strong written and oral English proficiency. Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence in university-level teaching and research (time-since-degree sensitive). Experience with field- and/or laboratory-based instruction and high-impact educational practices. Professional licensure or relevant certifications (e.g., Professional Land Surveyor) and/or industry experience in geospatial engineering. Experience with diverse populations and promoting a collaborative, inclusive environment. Special Conditions

The position is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and complies with CSU Executive Order 1083. Background check (criminal records check) required after conditional offer; ability to start pending satisfactory clearance. Some positions may require ongoing background checks for sensitive roles; health and well-being guidelines (smoke & tobacco-free campus) apply. Potential transition to semester-based year-round operations (YRO) with two-semester regular appointment; additional teaching in a third semester may occur for extra compensation, depending on needs and policy.
