We’re looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team to accelerate the frontier of advanced power generation. You’ll be responsible for designing, analyzing, and validating electrical systems that power critical energy and aerospace hardware.

This role involves working across mechanical, controls, and systems engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable electrical infrastructure—from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

System Design:

Develop and maintain single-line diagrams (SLDs) and schematics for 480V and low-voltage power distribution systems.

Power Studies:

Perform load flow, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies.

Equipment Specification:

Select and specify electrical components including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relays, breakers, and cabling.

Grounding & Protection:

Design grounding and bonding systems; define overcurrent protection and fault coordination strategies.

Documentation: Generate accurate design packages, including SLDs, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts compliant with NEC and industry standards.

Integration: Work with controls and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into larger energy or propulsion platforms.

Testing & Validation:

Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and prototypes.

Safety & Compliance:

Ensure designs meet all applicable codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, NFPA 70E, IEEE).

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

4–6 years of experience in electrical design and power system engineering.

Strong understanding of 480V 3-phase power systems and industrial distribution networks.

Proficiency in creating and interpreting single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts.

Familiarity with electrical analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower).

Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.

Experience specifying and integrating electrical components and protective devices.

Preferred

Experience with high-power energy systems, propulsion systems, or aerospace hardware.

Knowledge of PLCs, power electronics, or control system interfaces.

PE license or EIT certification.

Hands-on experience with testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of power systems.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation and benefits package.

Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

A collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.

Access to cutting-edge design tools and prototyping facilities.

The chance to make a tangible impact on next-generation energy systems.
