Job Summary The Executive Assistant II provides complex administrative support for Vice President or position of comparable size, scope, and complexity. Performs complex and non-routine administrative tasks requiring frequent discretion and independent judgement. Acts as liaison of the executive and their office. Drafts and sends communications on executive’s behalf. Manages the office of the executive to include supervision of office staff. Oversees maintenance of all files, records, and reports. Oversees and works on special projects.

Additional Department Summary Provides confidential, high-level administrative support for the Vice President for Strategic Communications to ensure that the mission and initiatives of the division support the overall mission of the University. Manages the office, including supervision of staff, response to inquiries and requests, internal and external communications, scheduling and meeting planning, and maintenance of all files, records, and reports. May develop and manage complex projects. Serves as a liaison for executive leadership to groups of stakeholders including the faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, donors, and external community members. Resolves operational and administrative issues and moves quickly within the dynamic work environment. Coordinates and plans meetings, programs, and events. Serves as an ambassador of The University of Alabama at assigned University-related functions.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree;

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of complex administrative support experience;

Associate's degree and four (4) years of complex administrative support experience;

High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of complex administrative support experience.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of University’s Banner, HR, and Procurement systems and procedures.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Three (3) years of office administration experience in a higher education environment.

Experience in University’s Banner, HR, and Procurement systems and procedures.

Experience with other University of Alabama systems.
