The Role and the Team Department Overview The Strategic Accounts‑Finserv group leads Proofpoint’s sales and account management efforts into the largest, most complex, financial services enterprises in the world.
Role Overview Proofpoint has a critical need for a self‑starting, highly motivated Finserv Strategics Account Manager who can build deep relationships across multiple business units at F100 Accounts. We are looking for a Senior Sales Exec familiar with the Information Security space who can clearly articulate Proofpoint’s value proposition. The role will demand interaction with large‑scale enterprises at the CISO level, as well as with technical staff within the security and exchange IT organization.
This individual will work well with their team of sales engineers, partners, and leverage the power of corporate resources within their account base. Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) are top‑flight, consultative, enterprise information technology sales professionals. SAMs craft and execute account plans that maximize Proofpoint’s sales success and ensure high customer satisfaction. The role requires skilled interaction at all levels within assigned account’s information technology, legal and procurement organizations. SAMs are results oriented, possess strong business acumen, maintain a solid sales pipeline, deliver accurate forecasts, close sales, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.
Candidate should be located in New York/New Jersey or Massachusetts.
Job Requirements What:
Develop a comprehensive strategy and set of tactics to maximize Proofpoint sales into each assigned account.
Lead prospecting and cultivation of all new sales opportunities.
Forecast sales opportunities accurately and achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas.
Ensure a high level of satisfaction with each assigned account.
How:
‘Quarterback’ Proofpoint’s sales efforts and resources into assigned accounts.
Demonstrate strong Proofpoint product knowledge and communicate the fit of each to an account’s needs.
Understand Proofpoint processes paying close attention to detail.
Establish solid working relationships with each account at all organizational levels, including at executive level.
Develop an advanced set of solution selling capabilities, demonstrating the ability to orchestrate and deliver strong sales presentations.
What you bring to the team
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding bookings goals.
Focus on developing existing Proofpoint accounts while adding additional majors to your territory.
Strong business acumen and executive presence.
Understanding of the security threat landscape.
Trusted advisor of the CISO with technical acumen.
Convert prospects into sales by differentiating from the competition.
Work with System Engineers to prepare account strategies and plans.
Partner with the channel to gain access into new accounts.
Strong operational excellence including forecast accuracy, SFDC pipeline development, etc.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Proofpoint’s competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Must have sold to Financial Services organizations.
