Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience in troubleshooting, advocating for customer needs, and managing technical issues including managing client‑facing projects, and working with engineering and business services teams.
Experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
Experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products including design, architecture, and coding software in Java, C++, or Python.
Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in working with cloud databases (e.g., RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudSQL, Datastore, or Cloud Spanner), or storage (e.g., GCS or Filestore).
Experience with database performance tuning and management tools for backup and recovery with data migration strategies and moving production systems to the cloud.
Experience in query troubleshooting (e.g., isolating blocks of poor performing SQL, determining root cause, and developing remediation actions).
Knowledge of system/network administration of Linux/Unix or other operating systems.
Knowledge of core data structures and concepts like HTTP, Web frameworks, and common Web technologies.

In this role, you will guide customers on the migration of transactional database systems to Google Cloud Platform. You will work with customers to explain technical requirements and assist in designing, planning, managing, and troubleshooting the data migration process. You will travel to customer sites to deploy solutions and deliver workshops to educate and empower customers. You will work with Product Management and Product Engineering to build and drive excellence in the products.
Responsibilities
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve database migration issues.
Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations, tailoring approach and messaging to multiple levels of business and technical stakeholders.
Analyze on‑premises and cloud database environments and consult on the optimal design for performance and deployment on Google Cloud Platform.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Participate in rotating on‑call schedules including during nights, weekends and holidays to ensure prompt and proper resolution of customer‑impacting technical tests, and travel up to 15% in‑region for meetings and onsite delivery activities.
