Roles and Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Planning: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofits, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Client Advisory: Provide strategic tax advice to clients based on their specific needs, including planning for business growth, estate planning, and other tax-related decisions. Research & Analysis: Conduct tax research on complex issues, interpret tax laws, and recommend solutions based on client goals and the latest tax developments. Supervise & Mentor: Oversee and review the work of junior staff and interns, providing mentorship, training, and feedback to help them grow professionally. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique situations and offering proactive recommendations. Collaboration: Work closely with team members, partners, and clients to ensure effective tax strategies and solutions are implemented. Special Projects: Assist in handling special tax projects such as mergers and acquisitions, audits, and other complex client needs. Compliance with Deadlines: Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and compliance reports, managing multiple deadlines efficiently.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred or in progress. 3+ years of public accounting experience in tax, with a focus on business and individual tax. Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build client relationships. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
