Overview Our client is seeking an innovative Product Engineer to lead lifecycle management initiatives for its product portfolio and provide ongoing product support. This role requires a strong technical background, confidence in decision-making, and a passion for high-quality products. The Product Engineer will play a key role in driving product improvements, supporting customers, and ensuring operational readiness.
Base pay Base pay range : $75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Responsibilities Lifecycle & Product Support
Lead proactive updates and improvements to extend product longevity and reliability.
Revise products and engineering documentation to reduce costs and ease stocking without impacting functionality.
Interface with customers to address product-specific needs.
Investigate and implement improvement suggestions to maintain market share and adapt to changing demands.
Manufacturing & Production Optimization
Identify and execute design improvements to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes.
Apply DFM/DFMA principles to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids to decrease time and cost.
Operations & Ramp-Up Support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the launch and ramp-up of new products or product changes.
Ensure seamless transitions to sustained product lines with consistent operational readiness.
Roadmap & Quality Alignment
Implement enhancements aligned with the sustaining product roadmap and strategic goals.
Support quality initiatives including root cause analysis, corrective action investigations, and technical feedback resolution.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain and improve technical documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
Ensure updates reflect ongoing product support initiatives and user needs.
Engineered Solutions & Supply Chain
Oversee the Engineered Solutions Specialist to ensure consistent delivery of custom solutions.
Identify at-risk components and implement sustainable alternatives to mitigate supply chain risks.
Recommend alternate components for procurement when necessary.
Conduct testing and validation of parts/products to support sustainment measures.
Use analytics and customer feedback to refine product design, materials, and processes for cost savings and improved quality.
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
4+ years of product engineering experience, specifically in product support or sustainment.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD) and related engineering tools.
Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
Experience in project management; familiarity with agile methodologies is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
