Job Description
Are you an experienced Human Resources professional looking to partner with business leaders and make a positive impact on the organization? Miller Electric, an ITW company, is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Components Division. In this role you will handle traditional HR functions—talent acquisition, employee relations, and more—while proactively partnering with business areas to address employee engagement, talent development, change management, and policy implementation.
Employee Relations and Development
Coach and counsel managers and employees on work-related policies and procedures such as employee relations, talent planning, performance management, compensation, benefits, diversity, equity, inclusion, and recruiting.
Partner with managers to proactively identify issues and provide tailored solutions to meet business goals.
Facilitate mandatory and developmental training, including Harassment‑Free Workplace, Performance Management, and Conflict Resolution.
Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees, respecting and valuing individual differences and perspectives.
Assess departmental employee engagement levels and assist in developing action plans to ensure a positive and supportive workplace.
Assist with the administration and communication of performance management and rewards programs.
HR Policy and Administration
Work closely with ITW and the HR team to ensure consistent interpretation, communication, application, and administration of HR policies and procedures.
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies that comply with federal and state laws and align with ITW’s values.
Utilize technology to streamline process improvements and delivery of HR services.
Act as project manager for special HR initiatives such as Talent Reviews and Wellness programs.
Support managers and employees with payroll questions and serve as the payroll liaison for the division, maintaining HRIS records and supporting FMLA/Leave of Absence.
Additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
Drive talent acquisition and onboarding processes.
Interview and recommend candidates for hire.
Coordinate job offers and pre‑employment processes.
Maintain record‑keeping requirements for the Affinitive Action Plan.
Conduct onboarding activities for new employees as needed.
What you need to do to be successful in this role
Knowledgeable in HR functions such as recruiting, performance management, employment law, employee engagement, and compensation.
Exhibit outstanding communication skills in both spoken and written forms.
Self‑starter with a positive attitude; highly motivated, organized, and able to lead through challenging situations.
Effective time management and prioritization of work.
Use discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding business and employee information.
Build and maintain effective working relationships; influence without authority.
Adapt to change and work effectively under pressure in ambiguous environments.
Drive results; demonstrate initiative to identify issues, provide solutions, and implement change.
Strong technical skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Minimal travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
