We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our privately held manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will manage the accounting team, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and provide meaningful financial insights to support business decisions. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and improving accounting processes to support growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cost accounting.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Manage inventory accounting, standard cost updates, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Oversee account reconciliations and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Partner with operations and management to analyze production costs, margins, and profitability.
- Provide mentorship and training to accounting staff to ensure team development and performance.
- Stay current with accounting standards (GAAP) and manufacturing industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting required.
