Overview
Raymond West is looking for a Dock and Door Technician to join our service team. The primary objectives of the Dock and Door Technician are: (1) proficient repair and service of the customer's equipment, (2) maintain good communication and working relationships with customers, peers, and management, (3) represent and sell the entire company, (4) be profitable with direct labor billing, (5) work within all safety guidelines established by Raymond West and OSHA.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair all types of Dock and Door equipment that RW sells and services.
- Repair all types of equipment that Raymond West sells and services.
- Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
- Train other employees as needed.
- Maintain a profitable billing level.
- Follow all Service Department procedures.
- Communicate with assigned Service leadership.
- Complete all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate and orderly fashion.
- Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
- Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.
- Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
- Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
- Represent the entire company at all times.
- Pass Raymond Certification and re-certification if applicable.
- Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record as established by the company's insurance carrier.
- Report accidents whether self or customer.
- Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary and coordinate all overtime with the assigned supervisor.
- Follow all procedures in the company's Employee Handbook and safety procedures.
- Be willing to work out of town as necessary.
- Establish a positive rapport with customers.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Service Supervisors or Managers.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, coworkers, and Managers in other departments
- Willing to work off-hours as needed and assume more responsibility as required
- Ability to fulfill essential job functions in a constant state of alertness and safety
- Self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently

- Willing to follow mandates and procedures of the Service Department
- Ability to deal with customers face-to-face
- Maintain sound working relationships with technicians and fellow workers
- Pass applicable certificates for the position
- Working knowledge of basic DC electricity, basic AC electricity, internal combustion and diesel engines
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Mathematical ability for basic arithmetic and units of measure
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions
- Raymond Level 1 Certification or working toward it, if applicable
- Valid driver's license with acceptable points, if applicable
- Maintain personally owned tools and additional tools as required by duties and certification
- Ability to take directions and work as a team player
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical maintenance
- Professional appearance
- Willing to learn quickly and perform with flexibility
- Motivation for continuous self-development and training
- Willing to assume more responsibility as required
Education/Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Travel Requirement
- Based in the field with daily travel within assigned territories
- Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company fuel card
- Must be able to be insured by Raymond West

Pay Range
- The hourly range for this position is $22.90 - $49.90. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including experience, education, and location
