DATA SCIENTIST SME

Job Summary:

The Data Scientist will collaborate closely with AI developer to design and implement machine learning models and automation solutions that bolster the effectiveness of our SOC. This role involves analyzing large datasets to identify patterns, predict threats, and improve response strategies, thereby enhancing overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with AI developers to develop and refine machine learning algorithms that automate threat detection and response processes.

Analyze security data from various sources to identify trends, anomalies, and potential security incidents.

Design and implement predictive models to forecast security threats and vulnerabilities.

Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Conduct experiments and A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of different machine learning approaches.

Work with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning solutions into existing SOC workflows.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and cybersecurity.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Proven experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, as well as experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).

Strong understanding of security concepts, threat intelligence, and incident response processes is highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

To encourage work/life balance, GDIT offers employees full flex work weeks where possible and a variety of paid time off plans, including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave. GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
