Chief Development Officer (CDO)

serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for leading the strategic planning process, driving growth initiatives, and ensuring sustainability through diversified revenue streams. The CDO leads business and program development, fundraising, and partnership efforts to advance the mission and long-term sustainability of Tapestry 360 Health. The CDO will oversee all development functions, including major gifts, individual giving, institutional giving, planned giving, annual campaigns, special events, and donor stewardship. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, innovative, and mission-driven leader who can cultivate strong donor relationships, spearhead strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives, engage diverse stakeholders, and foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on strategic opportunities and challenges. Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the organization’s strategic plan. Provide insights on industry trends, policy shifts, and emerging opportunities to guide decision-making. Align organizational goals across departments to ensure coordinated execution. Collaborate with colleagues across programs, finance, and operations to ensure fundraising strategies align with organizational capacity and impact. Lead and grow all fundraising efforts, with a focus on major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and planned giving. Develop and implement strategies to expand and diversify revenue streams, including individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Personally manage and cultivate a portfolio of high-value donors and prospects. Oversee donor engagement, recognition, and stewardship to ensure long-term relationships and sustained giving. Team & Culture Building Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing development team. Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and collaboration within the development department. Promote a culture of philanthropy across the organization, engaging board members, staff, and volunteers in fundraising efforts. Communication & External Relations Oversee marketing, communications, and brand strategy. Represent the organization with external stakeholders, including funders, government agencies, community leaders, and industry partners. Ensure clear and compelling messaging about the mission, impact, and funding needs of the organization. Build high-impact partnerships to advance mission objectives and expand organizational reach. Qualifications: 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in strategy, development, fundraising, or business development. Demonstrated success in leading strategic planning and revenue growth initiatives. Strong track record of cultivating partnerships and securing major funding. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and inspire teams. The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits:

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Act, we are disclosing the full salary range for this position. This range represents the potential compensation for the role based on experience, tenure, and performance over time. Most new employees can expect an initial offer within the lower portion of the range, reflecting factors such as prior experience, internal equity, and organizational budget. Salary progression is evaluated regularly to support professional growth and retention.
