Interactive Systems Developer
Location:
San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid or Onsite)
Employment Type:
Full-Time
Compensation:
$150,000 – $250,000 base + equity
Tech Stack:
C++, Python, React, TypeScript
About the Work We’re building autonomous surgical robotics that dramatically reduce the learning curve for complex procedures. By combining off-the-shelf robotic hardware with proprietary planning, control, and machine learning algorithms, our systems execute surgical steps with greater speed and precision than human hands. Surgeons provide high-level guidance; the system handles the rest. At the heart of this innovation is an intuitive, real-time interface—your canvas.
The Role We’re hiring a multidisciplinary Interactive Systems Developer to design and build real-time applications that blend robotics, game design, and front-end development. You’ll create tools and interfaces that power surgical robotics—merging control systems, 2D/3D visualization, and mobile/web UI. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and technical rigor.
What You’ll Do
Build interactive front-end applications for robotic control, real-time feedback, and simulation
Design intuitive robotic control methods optimized for touchscreen devices
Implement 3D visualizations using tools like Three.js, Unity, Unreal Engine, or Babylon.js
Integrate sensor data, control systems, and user input across hardware/software teams
Develop responsive web interfaces using TypeScript and frameworks like React or Lit
Rapidly prototype and iterate on tools that merge gaming, robotics, and UI/UX
Ensure accessibility, performance, and usability across platforms
Collaborate with a diverse, interdisciplinary team focused on innovation and user-centered design
What You Bring
Experience in game development or interactive 3D applications (Unity, Unreal Engine, etc.)
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Lit, etc.)
Familiarity with 2D/3D rendering libraries (Three.js, Babylon.js, Godot, Pixi.js)
Understanding of real-time systems and data streams (e.g., WebSockets)
Strong design instincts and attention to user experience
Comfort working independently and within cross-functional teams
Bonus Skills (Not required, but a plus)
Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System), Gazebo, RViz
Familiarity with physics engines (PhysX, Bullet, Box2D)
3D modeling capabilities
Mobile development experience (React Native, Flutter)
Accessibility and inclusive design expertise
Compensation $150,000-$250,000 per year
