Pronto
While most Autonomous Vehicle (AV) technology companies are stuck in R&D mode, Pronto is a world-leader in commercializing AV tech via our Autonomous Haulage System, which is automating haulage operations at mines and quarries around the world. Pronto’s team of Silicon Valley veterans has been at the forefront of every major AV development over the past 20 years, with a relentless focus on commercializing the technology, leading to our current specialization in off-road applications. This focus and our decades of experience have put Pronto on a track to become the world’s first profitable AV technology company.
Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented PCB Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating our printed circuit board assembly line, reworking failed units, and managing production workflows. We require self-driven applicants with a strong attention to detail, and experience with reliably reworking challenging SMT components including QFN parts and exposed pads.
Work is split roughly between small-scale, rapid turnaround prototyping runs and intermediate quantity production runs of proven designs. Our PCB line is fundamentally a prototyping line, and you will be running all parts of the setup from pasting and pick/place, to thru‑hole soldering, rework, and harnessing. Production quantities are on the smaller side, and you will be working with engineering teams frequently to assemble multiple designs per week.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, hands‑on technical skills, advanced soldering experience, and a passion for optimizing manufacturing efficiency across diverse production requirements.
Key responsibilities Production Operations
Operate and monitor PCBA line equipment and processes
Manage PCB assembly area, maintaining organization and workflow efficiency
Assemble circuit boards into final enclosures
Perform hand soldering for through‑hole connectors and surface‑mount component rework

Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions
Process Improvement
Continuously evaluate and improve PCBA processes to increase speed, efficiency, and yield
Document procedures for existing and newly developed processes
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize production flow
Collaborate with engineering team on process enhancements
Required Qualifications
High attention to detail with commitment to quality standards
Baseline familiarity with electronic components and their functionalities
Extensive experience with hand soldering techniques and SMT rework including QFN parts
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clean, efficient work areas
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
