Key Job Functions At VetPowered, the
CNC Machinery Repair Technician
will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of CNC machines. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance to guarantee the efficiency and accuracy of CNC machining processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Machine Installation and Setup
Install and set up CNC machines according to manufacturer specifications.
Conduct thorough testing and calibration to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Routine Maintenance
Perform regular preventive maintenance on CNC machines to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
Inspect, clean, and lubricate machine components as part of routine maintenance schedules.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with CNC machines.
Execute timely and effective repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
Competently perform the repair and maintenance of all industrial equipment, including shears, press brakes, ironworkers, saws, CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC plasma tables, CNC oxy‑acetylene tables, CNC lasers, CNC waterjets, and other associated equipment.
Quality Assurance
Conduct inspections and tests to ensure CNC machines meet quality standards and produce accurate components.
Address and rectify deviations from quality specifications.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of machine maintenance, repairs, and service history.
Document any modifications made to machine configurations or settings.
Training and Support
Provide training to machine operators on proper CNC machine operation and basic maintenance tasks.
Offer technical support to production teams and address inquiries related to CNC machines.
Safety Compliance
Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and guidelines during all service and maintenance activities.
Collaboration
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, production managers, and other stakeholders to optimize CNC machining processes.
Service Calls and Expectations
Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance and uniform at all times.
Deliver extremely positive customer interactions by generating quotes, performing work, judiciously purchasing material, and satisfying our customers.
Other Duties
Assist with day‑to‑day operations around the shop and in the field, including machinery repair, cleaning, diagnosing, disassembly, and re‑assembly.
Perform facility maintenance as required.
Qualifications & Work Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or education a plus.
5+ years of industry experience working for a large OEM or a third‑party service company.
Proven experience as a CNC machining service technician.
Strong knowledge of CNC machine operations, programming, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with advanced machine tool calibration systems such as Renishaw QC‑20 Ballbar and XL‑80 Laser Interferometer.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Familiarity with various CNC control systems and software.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
