Position Description The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Stony Brook Medicine is recruiting a full‑time faculty member to provide educational and programmatic leadership, patient care, teaching, and clinical supervision of trainees in Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry. Stony Brook Medicine is a 650‑bed academic hospital and regional referral center for complex tertiary care and Level I trauma, and it houses the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University.

The Consultation‑Liaison (C‑L) division includes a well‑staffed multidisciplinary clinical and teaching service for residents and students and a Fellowship in Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry. This position offers faculty the opportunity to develop a subspecialty inpatient or outpatient niche within C‑L Psychiatry and to engage in administrative and educational program leadership.

Compensation & Schedule

Schedule options: Monday‑Friday 40‑hour weeks or a “7 on, 7 off” rotational schedule with another psychiatrist (up to 80 hours bi‑weekly).

Total compensation starts at $308,000 per year and is dependent on credentials and experience.

Eligible for a production incentive bonus.

Full complement of retirement/NY State Pension offerings as a SUNY employer.

Required Qualifications

MD or DO (or foreign equivalent).

Board‑certified / board‑eligible in Adult Psychiatry.

Eligible for New York State licensure.

Experience in Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry at an academic medical center.

Preferred Qualifications

Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry, or additional board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Neurology.

Leadership experience in Consultation‑Liaison education and clinical service delivery.
