Head of Political Sales

Responsibilities
Take over overall go‑to‑market strategy and execution plan for the political sector in 2026, capturing revenue early in the year.
Continue to define TEGNA’s resource strategy for political sales.
Manage and develop relationships with key senior‑level decision makers at national political agencies (National Media, Target Media, GMMB, PACs, candidate groups, etc.).
Lead pitches to drive agency‑wide deals, pricing, and client development.
Execute on RFP responses and new business proposals.
Coordinate with third‑party sales teams and consultants to maximize results.
Collaborate with pre‑sales, sales operations, marketing, account management, and channel partner teams.
Partner with product and technology teams to ensure targeting, data enrichment, and reporting requirements.
Work with the TEGNA team to identify opportunities and adjust products and processes.
Network at key political events to keep TEGNA top‑of‑mind as a leading local streaming solution.
Communicate regularly with senior TEGNA sales leadership.
Manage current Manager, Political Advertising.
Reach or exceed established revenue goals.
Requirements
Experienced advertising leader with deep contacts at key DC and NY political agencies.
Experience in streaming, local, broadcast TV or other digital video.
Entrepreneurial mindset and dynamic presenter capable of closing business quickly.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to identify solutions and opportunities.
Ability to influence key internal teams and stakeholders effectively.
