Job Description
Parsons is looking for a talented Network Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance network and system infrastructures that support mission-critical operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), and system infrastructures using Cisco and other industry-leading technologies.
Configure and manage servers, operating systems, and network devices to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to gather technical requirements and align solutions with mission objectives.
Support the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of encryptors, secure communication systems, and system-level security protocols.
Perform network and system troubleshooting, protocol analysis, and optimization using tools such as Wireshark and system monitoring tools.
Contribute to the accreditation of secure facilities (e.g., SCIFs) by supporting technical requirements and compliance efforts.
Respond to customer requests and provide technical support across multiple office locations.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to enhance both system and network performance and security.
Required Skills
10 years of experience in network and systems engineering, with a strong background in Cisco routing and switching, as well as system administration (Windows, Linux, or similar).
Hands‑on experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and system monitoring tools.
Familiarity with secure communications systems, system security principles, and network security protocols.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to address technical challenges across both systems and networks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Desired Skills
Experience with encryptors and familiarity with COMSEC account management.
Knowledge of non‑attributable voice and data communications systems.
Familiarity with secure facility (e.g., SCIF) design and accreditation processes.
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certifications, as well as system-focused certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Red Hat Certified Engineer.
Experience with enterprise‑level network and system management tools and software.
A proactive approach to learning and applying new technologies.
Security Clearance Requirement An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.
