THE WORK
Direct daily activities of the quality team (assignments, coaching, performance reviews).
Foster a culture of quality, safety, and accountability.
Mentor staff on problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
Oversee incoming, in‑process, and final inspections using calibrated equipment.
Ensure test plans, work instructions, and inspection criteria are current and adhered to.
Review and approve non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and disposition decisions.
Monitor adherence to AS9100, ISO 9001, and other pertinent standards.
Conduct internal audits and support external audits (e.g., NIST, DoD).
Maintain traceability records, configuration management, and document control.
Lead corrective and preventive action activities; drive root‑cause investigations.
Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and improve yield.
Track key quality metrics (PPM, scrap rate, on‑time delivery) and report trends to senior management.
Interface with customers on quality issues, product acceptance, and warranty claims.
Evaluate supplier quality performance; participate in supplier audits and corrective action implementation.
Develop and deliver training programs on inspection techniques, quality tools, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure team maintains required certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ) and enforce compliance with safety and environmental policies during all quality activities.
Participate in safety committees and incident investigations as required.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or combined equivalent experience.
≥5 years in a quality assurance/inspection role within aerospace, defense, or high‑tech manufacturing.
≥2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
Desired Skills
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and DoD specifications.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence without direct authority.
Strong coaching, conflict‑resolution, and communication skills.
Skilled in root‑cause analysis methods (5Why, Fishbone, FMEA).
Ability to interpret data, generate actionable insights, and present findings to senior leadership.
