Overview

Required: A Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a reputable university.

Good understanding of power/energy and water sectors, emerging trends and technologies.

Proficiency in English (must) and Arabic (plus).

Responsibilities

Operate within a dynamic corporate environment where key decisions significantly impact the Operations & Maintenance division. Such decisions require consultation with and approval from the direct Line Manager before implementation.

Operate under the mandates authorized by the responsible Line Manager, ensuring all functional and operational activities are managed with high standards of quality and reporting, upholding accountability and transparency.

Participate in the execution of Operations & Maintenance division comprehensive business and operational strategy. Contribute to meeting business and operational goals within the functional area.

Provide the leadership team with insightful information and data regarding the handled functional areas.

Respond to emergency call-outs and support operations around the clock, ensuring readiness for immediate action on short notice.

Experience 6 years of experience in similar roles in large companies.

Technical Skills

Demonstrate solid knowledge in plant automation systems such as ABB Procontrol, ABB Advant, Yokogawa Centum VP, Emerson Ovation, GE MarkVI, Siemens S7. Manage related aspects of instrument and control maintenance including setup, configuration, and routine checks, while adhering to safety standards.

Engage in proactive and reactive maintenance activities to ensure operational reliability and efficiency, conduct root cause analyses for breakdowns, and continuously evaluate and enhance plant performance and response readiness.

Develop a thorough understanding of plant automation systems including ABB Procontrol, ABB Advant, Yokogawa Centum, Emerson Ovation, ALSPA EDCS, Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley PLC, and Mitsubishi PLC.

Conduct routine, breakdown-shutdown, and planned maintenance activities by coordinating with team members to ensure efficient scheduling and resource allocation.

Perform instrument and control maintenance activities across DCS, PLC, valve actuators, positioners, transmitters, switches, sensors, analysers, servers, and HMIs.

Set up, configure, and maintain plant instrumentation equipment such as positioners, analysers, transmitters, and control systems.

Follow and enforce safety standard operating procedures during all maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Collaborate with teams to assess the availability and reliability of equipment post-maintenance, aiming to maintain optimal quality and quantity of work.

Support in conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting for shutdowns and breakdowns, identifying opportunities for system improvements and enhancements.

Analyse plant performance to propose evidence-based corrections or enhancements to processes or equipment, ensuring preservation of installed equipment.
