SeqMatic is a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and omics services provider based in the San Francisco South Bay Area. The company was founded in 2012 by former Illumina R&D scientists who are experts in the NGS workflow and related bioinformatics.
We specialize in Illumina NGS platforms, bulk DNA/RNA-seq, Single-cell RNA, as well as custom sequencing services with fast turnaround times. Our lab is CLIA / CAP certified. About the role SeqMatic is looking for a
Sales Development Representative
to join our omics services commercial team. This is a role based full-time in our Fremont, CA office (M-F).
Key elements of the position include:
daily outbound prospecting and nurturing as required to meet quarterly sales target;
understanding customers' technical and business requirements
Utilize sales tools (ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Etc.) to find new customer opportunities
Learn and present the full range of SeqMatic omics services as part of outreach
This role offers a base salary plus commission, a comprehensive benefits package, 401K with match, and a 5-day lunch program.
What you'll do
Hunter: Identify and make outbound contact with existing and potential customers to find sales opportunities,
Sales process: Manage, qualify and prioritize sales leads; understanding of the customer's scientific and business pain points, and the competitive situation.
Tenacity: Relentless pursuit of new sales opportunities to fill the top of the funnel
Perseverance: Not afraid of rejection
Responsive: Answer technical inquiries promptly
Attention to detail: Log all activities in the CRM.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
Strong Genomics and/or Molecular Biology background to allow for a deep understanding of the broad variation of NGS/omics applications vs. customer needs to uncover sales potential.
0-3 years of experience in a Life Science sequencing laboratory, NGS Sales role, Technical Support role, or a related field with customer-facing experience.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Conduct presentations effectively and professionally to customers, peers, and management.
Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing methods, especially DNA-Seq, RNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq is strongly preferred.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Prior experience in an environment using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is a plus
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in genomics, molecular biology, or a closely related scientific field.
Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
