Salary Range:
$53,372.80 - $96,408.00

Responsibilities GIS Technician will perform a variety of tasks related to Enterprise ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS) and Trimble Cityworks Work and Asset Management. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining GIS data layers and project datasets
Supporting users with GIS and asset information
Collecting GPS data and generating proposed drawings, cartographic products, and tabular reports
Performing QA/QC on data using standard operating procedures and workflows
Creating and updating documentation for procedures and workflows
Assisting with the setup, configuration, and support of GIS and Work and Asset Management systems and interactive online applications
Importing GPS data points into the GIS system for map generation and updates
Work Schedule Position requires on‑site attendance; this is not a remote work position.
Work Schedule: M-F 8AM - 5PM
Minimum Requirements
4-year degree in GIS/Geography/IT or related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Thrives working in a team environment
Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and standard office software
Knowledge of and experience in the use of ESRI ArcGIS and/or Trimble Cityworks
Valid NC Driver's License
Previous Utilities Experience preferred
1-2 years' of demonstrated competency in the areas of managing, analyzing, editing, and visualizing GIS and related data.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidate will have the GIS Associate Certificate (ESRI) or equivalent certification from an accredited technical institute.
3-5 years' increasingly responsible experience using GIS.
GIS Associate Certificate (ESRI).
Candidates with an equivalent combination of training, experience, and certification will be considered.
