## ## **Job Responsibilities:*** ### Support Technical Area core competencies growth as required by Technical Manager.* ### Support and contribute to knowledge base of internal and external best practices.* ### Support studies in performance requirements and validation requirements and contribute to the validation knowledgebase of Body and mechatronic systems.* ### Propose and support test and validation topics supporting the technical area and assigned projects.* ### Propose continuous improvement opportunities to level up team skills, qualifications, tools, and processes.* ### Lead vehicle/system/subsystem/component validation plan creation.* ### Lead validation proposals identifying component, system, and vehicle level testing required per development phase.* ### Support product development with creation of DVP&R, including defining the test quantity, product level for each subsystem per project phase and whether tests are virtual or empirical.* ### Lead/support the roll down of performance and certification targets to the tiered suppliers.* ### Support alignment of validation requirements with nominated suppliers.* ### Support creation of specification books and alignment between module team and suppliers.* ### Supervise component test execution and compliance of test standards and targets.* ### Support complex problem solving with cross functional teams.* ### Support hardware manager to fulfill DVP&R requirements.* ### Support benchmark activities with test planning and test tracking.* ### Support attribute teams on creation/update of new/modified test standards and to contribute to Magna Steyr database growth.* ### Support the project team(s) engineering in achieving project objectives, performance and cost requirements, and timing milestones.* ### Lead and/or support external services and resources supporting the project testing.* ### Support testing assigned to third parties and tiered partners.* ### Confirm OEM and magna project performance targets and assure the targets are achievable.* ### Confirm OEM and Magna project cost and timing targets and assure the targets are achievable.* ### Support the Project Manager (PM) and Technical Manager and contribute to the project resource planning, budget development, and status reporting.* ### Be responsible for the release of test and certification results into internal and external sites.* ### Be responsible for the release of DVP simulations and studies into internal or external sites.* ### Be responsible for completing and cataloging all the tests and results according to the DVP&R and format standards.* ### Be responsible for auditing designs assessing the risk of meeting the project performance targets.* ### Be responsible for testing in accordance with regulations such as, FMVSS, ECE, CNCA/GB, ISO, etc.* ### Be responsible to assure the Design Failure Mode and Effects and Analysis (DFMEA) includes all associated vehicle and subsystem test requirements and product usage cases.* ### Ensure cooperation with project management and Technical Manager.* ### Ensure cooperation with all other groups within the area.* ### Lead the definition of functional requirements for related components/subsystems with suppliers.* ### Create and manage Component DVPs as required according to MSDS (Magna Steyr Development System) process.* ### Ensure the Body systems DVP&Rs are current with updates and test results.* ### Lead test execution activities, documentation of results and reports.* ### Provide PPAP support as needed/required.* ### Provide support to ensure read across of component DVPs test results to complete vehicle DVP.* ### Secure knowledge of test and validation methods within the group.* ### Cooperation with all Magna Steyr locations.* ### Escalation problems at the earliest time with the appropriate team members.* ### Must have a positive “can do” attitude.* ### Must be flexible and able to course correct paths according to priority alignment.* ### Familiar with Body Exterior subsystem and component level manufacturing process (i.e., injection molding, stamping, casting, etc.)* ### Familiar with Body systems design and release process.* ### Familiar with Body systems components and assemblies.* ### Education– BSME.* ### Experience - 3+ years Body system level product validation.* ### Experience in mechatronic systems development, validation.* ### Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams.* ### Experience with supplier management, timing, and cost requirements.* ### Experience in testing fasteners, threaded fasteners, riveted fasteners, and clip retainers preferred.* ### Experience with Matlab/Simulink, dSpace, Labview, and model-based tools.* ### Proficient computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).* ### Computer knowledge and skills in CAD and CAE simulation preferred.* ### Six Sigma certification preferred.* ### Professional communication skills (written and verbal).* ### Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.* ### May require local, domestic, and international travel – less than 15% domestic travel. #J-18808-Ljbffr
