Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science
Locations: West Lafayette, IN & Indianapolis, IN
Job Summary The Department of Computer Science in the Colleges of Science and Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for multiple Tenure-Track Faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on our West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations. We are particularly focused on areas that can drive as well as benefit from the AI revolution, including Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, NLP and LLMs, quantum computing, explainable AI, programming languages and formal methods for AI systems, and AI applications to life sciences. We also seek research in scalable infrastructures for ML and AI, including operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and security/privacy of AI systems.
Purdue’s new initiative, Purdue Computes, aims to add 50 new positions by 2030. Opportunities exist for collaboration across the university, with faculty in every college.
Application Process Applications must include: a cover letter, a complete CV, a statement of research, a statement of teaching, and names and contact information of at least three references. Qualifications Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and demonstrate potential to build an independent research program, educate and mentor students, advise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and perform service at the School, College, and University levels.
Location Purdue’s locations are in West Lafayette and Indianapolis, Indiana. The university offers a dual-career assistance and relocation program.
