Role Description The
Precision Medicine Associate Director, Data Science
oversees a team responsible for translating non-structured information into structured data, reviewing clinical information in non-structured formats, and collaborating with data scientists and clinicians for patient eligibility for clinical trials. The role involves managing NLP and AI projects to transform unstructured documents into usable data and delivering clinical data analysis from both structured and unstructured sources.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of data scientists responsible for research and deliverables.
Determine data requirements and extract patient data from EHR/LIS/CVP into clinical data repositories.
Develop RWD proposals and scientific protocols.
Collaborate with study sponsors and oversee research publications.
Have clinical knowledge and experience working with EMR transactional notes.
Manage data queries within databases and perform chart reviews.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science/health care; Master’s or PhD preferred.
Or an Associate's Degree with four years of related experience, or eight years of related experience.
Minimum of five years of experience, with at least four in HEOR and RWE/RWD.
Strong oncology background and publication record.
Experience with EMR/LIS, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python.
Experience with NLP, SQL Server, Azure, and data visualization tools like Tableau is strongly desired.
Excellent communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Primarily sedentary work involving extensive computer use, with some travel (~20%).
Work may require air or automobile travel.
